As far as the social functions of college, you really have to put yourself out there if you want to enjoy the college experience. You don't have to go to parties in order to truly experience college. People just say that. If you aren't the party type then don't worry about it. Just enjoy yourself. Meet new people and join some clubs. Work with what strengths you have and show them to other people. You will eventually attract people similar to you that way. Just hang out with the right people and it should be all good.
I would say that yesterday was one of my favorite days ever in my beloved city "
My own advice for you is to be ready to balance between your social and academic life at college. if you enjoy something and you're good at it, then go for it but don't forget you main goal "your diploma"! Otherwise, of course you're not going to do well in class. If there's no motivation and desire, then of course you're going to be less willing to read that textbook every night and therefore fall behind in class. Be ready for fun, spectacular events, and of course academic achievement on one of the top universities in the world.
